BBQ Chicken pizza & Toffee Apple glaze



  • Pinch of salt & pepper
  • 1 small onion chopped 
  • 1 garlic clove chopped
  • 3 tbsp tomato puree
  • 125g brown sugar 

  • 1 tin of tomatoes 

  • 1 tsp of mixed herbs
  • 1 pizza base 

  • 1 cooked chicken breast 
  • 1 handful of mozzarella
  • Few jalapenos 


  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp plain flour
  • 200ml Brothers Toffee Apple cider
  • 125g brown sugar 
  • 1/2 tsp of paprika 
  • 1/8 tsp of cayenne pepper
  •  2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Ditch those takeaway menus and enjoy pizza night with Brothers! Fun, delicious and easy to make, we've given the classic BBQ Chicken pizza a Toffee Apple twist. Enjoy at home alone in front of the TV or feast with your family and friends with this homemade delight.

Method - For the pizza base:

  • Heat the oil in a saucepan over a low heat.
  • Add the onion along with a generous pinch of salt & pepper.
  • Fry gently for 12-15 mins or until the onion has softened and is turning translucent.
  • Add the garlic and fry for a further minute.
  • Tip in the tomato puree, brown sugar and tin of tomatoes. Bring to the boil and lower the heat.
  • Simmer, uncovered, for 30-35 mins or until thickened and reduced.
  • For a really smooth sauce, blitz with a hand blender.

For the glaze:

• Add the apple cider vinegar to a small saucepan over a medium heat. Whisk in the flour until fully combined.
• Stir in the remaining ingredients and simmer for around 5 minutes or until the glaze has thickened.
• Remove from the heat and allow to rest.

To serve:

• Add a generous splodge of tomato sauce to the pizza base and spread evenly.
• Place on the sliced chicken and then drizzle the BBQ glaze. 
• Add jalapeno peppers and a handful of torn mozzarella cheese.
• Pop in a hot oven 180 degrees should do it for 12-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbling.
