Beat the lockdown blues with the ultimate virtual festival party!
It’s been an uncertain and upsetting start to 2020, people in lockdown, pubs and restaurants closed, festivals and events cancelled across the world. Here at Brothers, we are devastated not to be able to celebrate our 25th anniversary with you at festivals and events across the UK this summer, but we are determined to stay positive and happy. We have been busy thinking of ways we can help keep you entertained at home over the coming weeks.
We can’t go to the festival, so let’s bring the festival to our homes instead! Below are some tips on how to throw the ultimate festival isolation party. We hope you like them.
Connect to your mates
We’ve found loads of virtual chatrooms and virtual party spaces online, where you and your friends can hang out, chat and socialise together. Here’s some of the best to try:
1. House Party
Downloaded millions of times since lockdown began, House Party this is a great space for up to 8 friends to chat, play games and share good times. Available on App Store, macOS and Chrome.
2. Zoom
Whilst originally set up for businesses, people have been flocking to Zoom during lockdown as it can accommodate up to 25 participants but can also have up to 200 viewers! The free to use version can put restrictions on how long you can chat for, but there’s a workaround, simply set up a new call to start immediately afterwards and keep the party going!’
3. Google Hangouts
Google Hangouts is a free to use video conferencing app from Google, where you can turn any conversation into a video call with up to 10 friends.
Deliver the ultimate playlist
Music is key to throwing the ultimate virtual festival, so why not head over to Brothers Spotify Profile where we have a selection of festival playlists on standby. Choose from a selection of specially curated mixes, covering past performances at the Jazz World & West Holts Stage at Glastonbury, or check out our ‘Ultimate Glastonbury 25’ playlist, a homage to some of the greatest ever Glastonbury performances.
Join a watch party!
Many DJ’s and artists are currently throwing live, free gigs and DJ sets from their homes, checkout a list of all the planned ones at www.billboard.com.
Get your mates all watching together and get dancing!
