Liverpool Sound City

1. Sugarmen

Sugarmen are set for great things this summer with the release of their highly anticipated album this September. They deliver high energy punk pop, banging guitar riffs and awesome Rock and Roll anthems that you’ll be singing all summer. Already gaining a reputation as a fantastic live act, Sugarmen were signed on the Saturday of Sound City 2016 to Warner Bros by the legendary Seymour Stein. Their new single ‘Sold’ is out on 19th May 2017.

2. Vryll Society

Signed to Deltasonic Records (alongside The Zutons & The Coral) The Vryll Society bring blissed out psychedelic vibes that will leave you buzzing. Currently supporting The Kooks on their UK tour these guys will bend your mind and soul. In a good way!

3. The Amazons

The Amazons are a band on a mission to bring back Rock and Roll, named on BBC’s Sound of 2017 list and as one to watch by the NME and Independent, these guys have great hair, banging tunes and put on a proper awesome live show.

4. The Shimmer Band

These boys make explosive psychedelic rock, they are powerful, they are flamboyant and in your face, and they are set to make big waves in 2017. Last year The Shimmer Band broke the festival scene and supported acts including Stereophonics and Blossoms. This year… World Domination.

5. Yak

This punk trio has an appetite for destruction, regularly smashing instruments on stage. Yak, a band from the Midlands are crashing on the scene as being something utterly original and new. Bonkers, furious, savage and full of raw energy and electrifying guitars this band is a refreshing change to the norm. Miss them and miss out!

6. The Japanese House

Another act featured in BBC’s Sound of 2017 The Japanese House is Amber Swain, a 21 year old from Buckinghamshire who makes dreamy indie pop tunes with an electronica vibe. She’s mates with The 1975 and Marika Hackman and has released three EP’s so far under Dirty Hit with an album in the pipeline. She’s gender fluid, super cool, and we reckon she’ll be huge.
And if that wasn’t enough new music for you all to see at Liverpool Sounds City they will also have some awesome showcases of new music for you to check out:

From Pirate Studios:

Sleep Talking, Paves, Bang Bang Romeo, The Surrenders, The Baltic States, Rozelle, Count Counsellor, Proletariat
